Day 4 – Full Day in Honolulu
Looking to be independent and head out to explore Oahu, pick up a rental car to head out and discover some of the best beaches in the world.  Oahu has several beaches rated in the top 10 beaches in the world on Oahu
Some of the best beaches are Kailua Beach, Waimanalo Beach and Lanikai Beach.  But if you ever wanted to feel like that you swan in an aquarium, you must stop at Hanauma Bay conservation reserve which is filled with many types of fishes and turtles which is an extinct volcano with one side open to the ocean and a reef inside of the crater protecting all of the reef fishes.  There is a small charge for visiting this beach but it is well worth it.
Tired of the ocean, Oahu has six botanical gardens to wonder through with most of them free of charge.
You can find these gardens in downtown Honolulu, called Foster Botanical Garden, in central Oahu in Wahiawa, the Lyon Arboretum in Manoa Valley (with its own waterfall) and Ho’omaluhia Botanical Garden in Kaneohe.
There is lots of natural wonders to be found.

Optional:  Submarine rides off Waikiki

Optional:  Half and full day tour to Kualoa ranch for outdoor adventure & zipline

Day 5 – Neighbor Island
Hawaii is made up of several islands and in order to experience another Hawaiian island a one day trip would be a good alternative if time does not allow a two or three night stay.

Big Island of Hawaii is the largest of the islands in Hawaii offering open ranges, active and extinct volcanoes and the tallest mountain in the world from sea floor to summit.  Hawaii is filled with natural beauty, waterfalls and ancient Hawaiian culture.  Much of the island can only be seen by helicopter.

Maui is the valley island with the most accessible drive to the top of Haleakala rising to 10,023 feet above sea level.  Haleakala is a national park that is 33,265 acres of which 19,270 acres is wilderness.  The view from the top is spectacular especially at sunrise.  Maui still has an agricultural base of sugarcane and pineapple fields that covers the island and what the island of Oahu look like from the 1850’s to 1970’s.
One of the most scenic drives in Hawaii is the drive to Hana, Maui as one of the islands natural beauty.
From December to April you can find lots of whales in the channel between Maui ~ Molokai ~ Lanai and Kahoolawe.

The island of Kauai is known as the garden island because of how green this island is.  Kauai averages over 300 inches of rain per year making it one of the wettest spots on earth.  Kauai also boost of the spectacular Napili coast that you can only see by hiking in or by helicopter.  Many of the valleys within the Napali coast line has ancient Hawaiian villages abandon many decades ago and only accessible by sea.  Kauai also has Waimea canyon also referred to as the Grand Canyon of the Pacific.

Molokai has the Kalaupapa settlement once used for the care of Hansen disease by the Catholic Church and where two of the residents where anointed to sainthood by the pope for their miracles performed there, Father Damien and Mother Marianne Cope.  Molokai has the famous mule ride down the side of the cliff to this settlement along a sheer cliff previously the only way in and out.

The island of Lanai is regarded as the pineapple island since 80% of island is planted in pineapple for Dole Food Company.  Lanai is a really laid back community since most of everything revolves around it’s agricultural industry.  Lanai has been recently purchase by Larry Ellison owner of Oracle and the 4th wealthy person in the USA.

Day 6 – Oahu Full Day in Honolulu
By now you have discovered that there is a lot of activities just on Oahu to do and you probably have not had a chance to fit everything in.  Consider a little time for short hikes but make sure you have the right shoes and a water bottle.  Hawaii may appear to be cool and breeze most of the time but the sun does beat down on you.
Another full day activity is a trip to the Polynesian Cultural Center in Laie on the North Shore of Oahu for a taste of the South Pacific culture of the Cook Islands, New Zealand, Samoa, Tahiti and Tonga.  This is an all-day event with a spectacular evening performs of 100’s of students from the BYU campus.

Optional:  Day tour to Polynesian Cultural Center

Day 7 – Oahu
Get in those last minute activities or just kick back and spend time around your hotel pool or visit your favorite beach.
A favorite thing to do on your last day would be is to swim with the dolphins.  A mammal that many say is as smart as a human being.  You don’t have to know how to swim because you are outfitted with a life jacket that will prevent you from sinking and you get to interact up close and touch these mammals.
If you haven’t pick a great restaurant for dinner on this trip yet, you need to fit in one of the many great restaurants has to offer from Pacific rim cuisines to typical seafood restaurants.

Optional:  Swim with the dolphins tour

Optional:  Special dinner reservations
